This lamp is about playing with light itself. You use it to light up a wall, and the stark and distinct silhouette it leaves is the art piece. I found this after seeing the Superloon at Design Within Reach — and loved the idea of such a design but it was $5000. This one is much more affordable and it looks great in my Art Deco / MCM transitional home. I think the silhouette is reminiscent of celestial equipment. It comes with a dimmer box which is very chunky — nearly 12” long — so plan ahead on where to stash that. I get compliments on it every time someone new sees it. If you think you might like it, go for it: it’s truly unusual and exceptional. Picture does not do it justice — the light spreads out softer on the wall in a lovely way.
