I had this installed in my kitchen. The goal was to have a visually unobtrusive light that put out a significant amount of ambient (as opposed to merely down) lighting. This light fully does the job, and was the only flush, round light I could find with a diffuser that hangs down from the rim. My other fixtures are bronze, not gold. But once installed, the gold trim is sufficiently close to the ceiling and unilluminated that it actually looks bronze rather than gold. I'm glad that I had it professionally installed, since the dimmer had to be adjusted in order to have the light turn on without flashing, then dimming, then coming back to full illumination. All in all, I'm quite happy except for the steep price.
