Since 2002, Philadelphia Magazine has been partnering with builders in the tri-state area to bring extraordinary homes to Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs. Each year the Design Home team builds a custom-made home designed with modern luxuries for the contemporary family of today. Philadelphia Magazine carefully selects the builder, architect, and designer each year to participate in this 6-9 month project. Tickets for tours of the home are then sold with proceeds benefitting a local Philadelphia charity.
This year marks the 13th Design Home in Philadelphia and it’s located in the refined country suburb of Wyndmoor. Proceeds from this year’s home, similar to many years in the past, benefitted MANNA, the Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance.
We at Lamps.com were thrilled to light this exceptional house. Featuring an open floor plan and top of the line appliances and amenities, the 7,450 square foot home was welcoming and charming. We worked closely with talented interior designer, Diane Bishop, of Blue Bell’s Diane Bishop Interiors, to bring warmth and brightness to the space. With over 60 fixtures from Lamps.com, the home exudes brilliance, with touches like a crystal chandelier hanging over the free standing soaking tub in the master bath, and a large multi-tier chantilly chandelier in the foyer. The home also included a glass-blown chandelier from local Philadelphia artist, John Pomp, in the great room, as well as a glimmering orb pendant sparkling over the dining room table.
