They can either be very unique to the room or match other décor. Available in all shapes and sizes, sconces can exhibit modern or traditional style. Traditional style uses a brass, nickel, or wrought iron finish and typically has a candelabrum in the fixture, which holds a modern day candle fixture with either an exposed or shaded bulb. Modern sconces have glass shades either etched, clear, or white, are backed with a chrome or brushed nickel finish, and generally have clean lines.
