Cape27′s Favorite Lighting Options

Throughout the past year of renovating our home we’ve been faced with an overwhelming number of updates to be made in the lighting department, and have done our fair share of browsing. What once was a chore though, has slowly turned into quite the hobby and I’m constantly blown away by all the options available. However, as a newbie, it can quickly become a bit daunting. So, when the folks from Lamps.com asked if I’d be interested in highlighting a few of my favorite lights from their product selection, I thought it’d be a great way to inspire those of you just getting started, or maybe just introduce you to a fun new lighting option out there!

Here are a few of my favs!

Kitchens typically require a variety of lighting, so I love to start with one statement piece, like a pendant over a sink or a pair above an island counter. The Hudson Falls Pendant has such beautiful industrial lines and would give any kitchen a little edge!

Brass is back with a vengeance, and I love it. Every kitchen deserves some jewelry – try pairing the Lambert Pendant with a few aged bronze cabinet pulls for the perfect touch!

I’ll always fall for a classic drum shade, so it’s no surprise that I’m crushing on the Orion Flush Mount. The simple, dark band of edging gives it some interest, but overall it’s a great classic piece to work with any room’s decor.

The teardrop-shaped lamps are forever on my radar, and you’d be hard-pressed to find one at a better price than the White & Chrome Continuum. Again, a super classic pick that can easily be moved from space to space as rooms evolve over time.

Additional layers of texture in a design is always a plus, and the base of the Dover Grey Ceramica Lamp does just that. I’d love to see a pair of these styled on an entryway console or even on a bedside table.

Speaking of bedrooms, if you have side tables on the smaller side, a sconce light is a great alternative to clear up some space. The antique bronze finish of the P3 Swing Arm Sconces would be a nice contrast in room full of lighter tones.

Don’t forget the kids! The Walker Swing Arm Sconce comes in super fun shade patterns for both boys and girls. The perfect bedside reading light!
